End Times, What do you Believe?

I tried to put the above poll on face book, I was unsuccessful.  So here it is.  If you don't mind sharing your thoughts and view I would so much love to hear where my friends thoughts are taking them these days and why.

I am undecided ....although pre-mil is to my "liking"...I need to study the topic further....so far then I'm "pan-millenial" (It'll all pan out in the end)....but I would like more discussion, etc. on the topic :)

I was wondering how futurists (those that believe the prophesies of Rev., Dan., and Matt. are relating to events that are still in the future) interpret Matt. 24:34: "Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled".

Do they believe like C.S. Lewis that Jesus was wrong?

"Say what you like, the apocalyptic beliefs of the first Christians have been proved to be false. It is clear from the New Testament that they all expected the Second Coming in their own lifetime. And, worse still, they had a reason, and one which you will find very embarrassing. Their Master had told them so. He shared, and indeed created, their delusion. He said in so many words, ‘this generation shall not pass till all these things be done.’ And he was wrong. He clearly knew no more about the end of the world than anyone else.” -- C.S. Lewis, The World's Last Night: And Other Essays, p.97

I just recently watched two excellent web cast on this topic one over at Ligonier Ministries, Sproul's 12 part series on the end times, I watched just the first 6. Also, enjoyed watching one over at Desiring God web site, where Piper invited three other men to discuss pre mill, post mill and a mill. Very interesting, worth looking at. Anyways, Sproul gives a good plausible reason what that statement means to those who believe that the prophecies are for the future. It never made sense to me that we had to change the word generation to mean something other than what it means. So, although it is plausible, I don't necessarily buy it. ~ Laurie
