My mother-in-law passed away a year ago today.
Oh how she loved our children, they were so blessed by her at every turn. Her Generosity to them was amazing at times. She would give them anything they needed and many times what they wanted. As a young mom and in full time ministry with very little funds, Kay always made sure our children did not go with out. I never had need to buy diapers, baby wipes, etc. all were supplied weekly for us, and in so loving them she loved us.
Playfulness another one of her great gifts to us all, she would find much to play with in life. She definitely knew how to joke around especially with our son. Her sense of humor she passed onto her son and onto her grandson.
Friendliness, wow that women could walk into a store and people would call her out by name. The employee's knew her and joked around with her. She would start up a conversation with anyone any where. This wonderful trait she passed onto my daughter.
So, although Kay has passed she left pieces of herself with my children and for that we are all blessed and enriched.
Did I mention she was afraid of heights? Do you see her holding onto Emily for dear life. That was a source of a lot of ribbing from her son, my husband.
Enjoying and playing with the kids.

I've just discovered your blog, through the kind comment you left on mine! Your mom reminds me of my mother who died in 2000. She had the same sort of playfulness with her grandchildren. I enjoyed this post, thanks.
