OHIO

How time flies, we have lived in Ohio going on 2 years now!  I am still trying to get used to this state in many ways it is so different from any of the other places I have lived in the east coast and midwest.

Like why haven't I've been able to find pink pansies?  Or why is so difficult to find coffee ice cream?  And what about the dark at 6:30 AM, I want to be out and about at that time, in my garden getting a head start on the day.  I don't know why it is necessary to have drive in beverage stores, or for that matter why chicken poppycosh is such a big deal, these and a few more are things that irritate me or give me cause to ponder.

None the less, I am learning to love Ohio, yes I said love and Ohio in the same sentence.

I love our little cottage,  I love my job, I love the fact that I can get perogies in almost any restaurant, my waist line may not like that but oh my taste buds do.

I love the country side, I love that mix of flat lands and hills.  I love that Amish country is only a little over an hour away.

I love the flea markets and goodwill stores (some of the best I have ever seen).
I love that spring actually arrives and we don't just jump into summer.  I love that the winters aren't terribly long.  I love that some stores still recognize holidays and close so that their employees can have a day off.

Well, as you can see the list of good is actually longer than the list that irritates, now that is a good thing!

Having said all that, there is one thing that I love the MOST about Ohio, and that is the people of our church.   Jim and I  are blessed to have found such a body of believers. Their friendship all though still in the budding stage has brought much comfort to Jim and I as we have made this transition.  Their generosity of spirit,  their smiles, their camaraderie, their willingness to walk with us down this road has made this move all the more bearable.

I have come to the conclusion that although people may live with out coffee ice cream and pink pansies when you have God as a common denominator your fellowship is sweet.

I bet Ohio is a world away from New Hampshire! But I am glad you are finding things that you like (who doesnt like a nice Goodwill?) And that you have a church\friends that you enjoy!

I love coffee ice cream too! It's hard to find here sometimes, but it's getting better.
