The Messy Side of Moving

So it's time to take down, pick up, and remove all evidence that this was once our home.  It's not that I'm not looking forward to this move and all that comes with it, because I am, I'm just not seeing the fun part of this packing business.  Take this shelf for example it took nine boxes to clear it off, it's just a simple shelf.  I had to laugh when Jim came home with about 20 boxes and asked if that would be enough!

Below are some of the empty boxes waiting to be filled with our precious and not so precious belongings.  Sure does make a mess.
Use to be I would put color coded numbered tags on everything, have a master list with every single item and what box number it was in.  Over kill you think?   Well, not anymore, not only am I not color coding or having a master list; I am only putting where the box goes on the top and one side.  I think I've come along way or maybe I've done this so much and know that all that work I use to do really wasn't that helpful.  Again you live you learn.

When we color code and make our master list it makes us feel we have some control. I agree, that it doesn't really help. I've done that sort of thing and then BOB will get in the mix and it was all for naught.

Now, I just start packing stuff I use the least and work towards the stuff I use most frequently. That will be the last to load and first to get out. The stuff that I packed first is the stuff I won't need for a while (if ever).

Smile...it's all good. Pat
